The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is an 18 year plan that includes estimated costs and schedules for 138 capital improvement projects. The total estimated cost is $2.5 billion.
Use our map to find a project near you. Over the next 18 years, OCSD’s CIP will accomplish: - Major rehabilitation of existing headworks, primary treatment, secondary treatment, ocean pipeline pumping and biosolids handling facilities at both plants
- Replace or rehabilitate 16 of OCSD’s sewage pump stations and 44 large sewer trunklines throughout its service area
- Fund cooperative projects to help local cities upgrade their sewers
- Disinfect the ocean discharge to reduce bacteria levels
- Reclaim 70 million gallons per day of OCSD’s highly treated effluent
- Achieve secondary treatment standards
