The Construction Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is an 18-year plan that began in 2002 with estimated costs and schedules for approximately 125 improvement projects. The total estimated cost is $2.9 billion.
Use our map to find a project near you. By 2020, OCSD’s CIP will accomplish: - Major rehabilitation of existing headworks, primary treatment, secondary treatment, ocean pipeline pumping, and biosolids handling facilities at both plants
- Replace or rehabilitate 15 of OCSD’s sewage pump stations and 44 large sewer trunklines throughout its service area
- Disinfect the ocean discharge to reduce bacteria levels
- Reclaim 70 million gallons per day of OCSD’s highly treated effluent
- Achieve secondary treatment standards
