Newport Blvd. Construction Ongoing
Construction continues to take place along northbound Newport Boulevard between Coast Highway and north of Hospital Road. The temporary closure of the Newport Boulevard and Old Newport Boulevard transition ramp north of Coast Highway is in place. The closure will last approximately 3 months. See maps below for the ramp closure location and suggested detour map.
Construction hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The ramp closure will remain in place 24 hours/7 days a week. Dates and times are subject to change due to unforeseen operational factors or inclement weather.
What to Expect
Increased construction noise and activity is expected. Some parking spots may need to be taken from time to time. Since traffic is being diverted to Hospital Road due to the ramp closure, some traffic congestion is expected. Flaggers are in place at the Old Newport Boulevard, Hospital Road, and Westminster Avenue intersection to help with traffic flow during peak times.
Construction activity is currently along northbound Newport Boulevard only. There should be minimal impact to southbound Newport Boulevard.
