Newport Blvd Ramp Re-Opens

By the end of this week (week of March 5), the Newport Blvd to Old Newport ramp will be completely open.  As part of the construction of the regional sewer pipeline along Newport Blvd, the ramp was temporarily closed.  Since January, only the Newport Blvd to Old Newport off ramp was accessible.

Traffic control k-rail will be relocated to the next stage of construction, starting Thursday, March 8 at 9 p.m.  By the end of the week, the ramp will be accessible in both directions.

There may be intermittent closures that will impact ramp access through May to finalize any finishing work such as landscaping.

Northbound Newport Blvd Lane Closure During Construction

With the Newport Blvd ramp opening and construction project progressing, crews will be working along Newport Blvd between Hospital Rd and Industrial Way.  During work hours, the #3 northbound lane (closest to the shoulder) will be closed.  Drivers should pay attention to the traffic cones and drive cautiously through the work area.

This next phase of work is expected to be completed in May.  No work is anticipated to occur on Newport Blvd during the summer months.

Thank you for your continued patience during the construction of this important project.
