During the summer season, the Newport Blvd Sewer Project took a short break on the streets to minimize public impacts to those who live, work, visit and play in Newport Beach.  Construction work is anticipated to commence after Labor Day, September 4, just as schools are back in session.

Where:  Along northbound Newport Blvd. south of Industrial Way

What to Expect:  Most work will be alongside Newport Blvd.  The travel lane closest to the shoulder may need to be closed for worker and public safety.  

Work Hours:  8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.*

*Construction work may occur outside these hours but will not impact traffic.

Project Description:

The Newport Blvd. District 6 Trunk Sewer Relief construction project will replace an existing 60 year old regional sewer pipeline with a larger sewer pipeline to increase the sewer flow capacity and reduce the risk of spills.  Construction will take place along Newport Blvd. between Pacific Coast Highway and Industrial Way in the City of Newport Beach and Pomona Ave and 17th St in the City of Costa Mesa.
