Starting October 20, work will commence at the City of Newport Beach Maintenance Yard (next to Carl's Jr.) near Newport Blvd. and Industrial Way, lasting approximately 3 weeks.  Construction activities include cured-in-place pipe activities and manhole demolition and reconstruction.  As part of cured-in-place pipe, the picture below is an example of a liner installation into an existing sewer pipe through a manhole opening.

Nearby residents and businesses may notice construction work and vehicles during the days, nights, and weekends.  Some overnight work may be required.  Read the latest construction alert to see what to expect during cured-in-place pipe.

Work Hours:  Monday - Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.*

There will be a little bit of a break before upcoming construction activities will involve excavating pits on Newport Blvd. and Short St.  There will be closures on southbound Newport Blvd. when work takes place.

A full closure of Short St. is anticipated to occur early November.  More detail will be provided as the date approaches.

In addition to OCSD's sewer project, the City of Newport Beach has a water line construction project taking place on Short St. in the same area.
