Construction Program

The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is the Sanitation District's on-going effort to increase treatment capacity, upgrade or reconstruct our aging facilities, and improve the quality of water that is released into the ocean. The focus of the perpetual program shifts over time. It began creating the initial capacity of the system, it then focused on improved treatment capacity, and it is now focused on refurbishing and replacing our aging infrastructure and maximizing reuse. The Sanitation District plans to invest over $2 billion in our infrastructure over the next ten years.
