This project will demolish two obsolete digesters and several other facilities that are at the end of their useful life or no longer in use. The demolition site will receive extensive grading, drainage and paving improvements to prepare the location for future facilities.
Digesters and clarifiers are completely demolished. A concrete crushing operation was recently mobilized onsite to convert the material from the demolished structures into asphalt base. Recycling and reusing the concrete reduced the number of trucks on the roadway and coming in and out of Plant No. 2.
