Newport Blvd Project Update
Construction activities continue on the Newport Blvd. Project. They are currently working on Newport Blvd. north of Hospital Rd. Crews are excavating a deep 20+ foot deep pit for upcoming pipebursting activities. Travel lanes are reduced along northbound Newport Blvd. Expect some noise and vibrations during work hours.
The k-rail concrete barriers that closed access to the Newport Blvd. off-ramp was removed and the ramp re-opened January 15.
There are a few remaining finishing work activities such as curb and gutter and re-installing a street light pole that will require the intermittent daytime closure of the off-ramp for crews to safely perform the work for the next 1-2 weeks.
The on-ramp will remain closed for several more weeks before the ramp is completely open.
Normal daytime work hours are 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
